MEXICO DRUG CARTEL VIOLENCE EXPANDING

As a resident of Horizon City, and a homeowner who lives just a few
blocks from where Sergio Saucedo was kidnapped recently, I am getting
more and more concerned about the spillover that seems to be
trickling into our area from Juarez.

This man was kidnapped in broad daylight in a community where several
sheriff's deputies live. It is almost unbelievable that they would
even try to pull this, much less get away with it.

For the cartel to be brazen enough to come into our neighborhood and
do something like this should concern everyone. For them to be able
to kidnap this man and get across the border without any problem
should be a bigger concern.

We check every vehicle that comes into El Paso from Juarez. Maybe it
is time that we start demanding that the Mexican government do the
same. Maybe this man could have been saved if the Mexican border was
as secure as ours.

We have to contain this violence before innocent people are killed
here like they are in Juarez on a regular basis. It is time for El
Pasoans to get seriously concerned.
