WHY KILL GIGGLE-SMOKE?

Once again the lunacy of prohibition leaps into the headlines with
the military and policing might of Canada wasted on another
Operation-Stamp-Out-Giggle-Smoke.

The tragic lessons the prohibition of ethanol should have taught us
to continue to be ignored. The vast governmental and criminal empires
our ridiculous drug laws have created, dearly hope too few
long-suffering citizens will wake up and demand this idiocy be stopped.

Cpl. Darren Lagan says he expects to destroy over 75,000 pot plants
this year. He's mistaken if he thinks this will in any way deter or
impoverish the powerful and wealthy industry our foolish laws have fostered.

Cpl. Lagan's efforts are exactly what makes the grow ops so
profitable and worth the investment and risk. It's time our gutless
politicians admitted that ridding Canada of its utterly unenforceable
drug laws will, at the stroke of a pen, rid us of an ever-growing,
ever more violent and staggeringly wealthy group of criminals.

Yes, the de-criminalizing of drugs will present us with all the
problems ethanol now offers, but it will stop the gang murders, the
corruption of our politicians, police and courts - and the futile
helicopter rides of Cpl. Lagan.
