MAILED METH SICKENS CITY POSTAL WORKER
Nanaimo RCMP are investigating how crystal methamphetamine ended up
in the mail on Wednesday.
Shortly after 11 a.m., a Canada Post worker reported feeling dizzy
after spilled powder was discovered at the East Wellington Road post office.
Police said an initial test determined the powder is likely crystal
meth and that it could have spilled from any number of packages.
No one required hospitalization and the post office was not evacuated
or closed. The spill occurred in a sorting room that is not
accessible to customers. The post office was decontaminated.
Police are investigating where the drug came from.
