RESPONSIBLE USERS APPRECIATE BENEFITS

The notion that marijuana smoking has some kind of causative link to
the sexual abuse of children (Letters, Aug. 19) is outrageously and
viciously wrongheaded. Jerome Kellner has insulted legions of caring,
responsible cannabis users - legal and not - who have come to
appreciate the herb's gently way of soothing hurts and lifting spirits.

And, if there are any more child abusers out there who also happen to
smoke pot, beware. Mary Jane loves to shine light in dark corners.
