CANADIAN CASH LACED WITH COCAINE: STUDY

(CNS) - If you've ever taken money out of a bank machine, there's a
good chance one of those bills has been used to snort cocaine.

According to an American study, the U.S. and Canada have the highest
levels of cocaine residue found on banknotes out of five countries,
with an average contamination rate of between 85 and 90 per cent.

China and Japan had the lowest, between 12 and 20 per cent contamination.

The researchers studied 27 bank-notes from Canada and found that 85
per cent were contaminated with cocaine, with amounts ranging from
2.4 micrograms to more than 2,530 micrograms of coke per banknote.
