READER APPALLED BY BILL SUPPORT
Editor:
I was very upset to here a couple of representatives of the RDCK at
The Federation of Canadian Municipalities Conference in Whistler on
June 6, 2009 supporting the Amendment to remove; "and Bill C-15, An
Act to amend the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and to make
related and consequential amendments to other Acts, which will
facilitate the battle against organized crime." (Bill C-15 essential
tightens drug laws). I happened to come across it on CPAC the other day.
I stand behind all the former RCMP officers who were appalled at
this. One Calgary officer pleaded for our children that this clause
would not be removed.
It seemed to me most of the people who supported the clause sat
behind desks while those that did not were on the front lines.
