NO SYMPATHY FOR 'PRINCE OF POT'

Re: 'Prince of pot' bids farewell, July 17

One of Marc Emery's idolizers crowed, "He is ready to go to jail for
something he believes in. How many people can do that you think?" The
fellow must be smoking something potent.

The "Prince of pot" fought extradition for four years before reaching
a plea-bargain deal. That hardly makes this loudmouth felon who
relishes his notoriety a martyr for the open enjoyment of cannabis.

If U.S. authorities want him, let them keep him. Canadian taxpayers
should not have to finance any of his delayed incarceration.
