CANNABIS FOR MEDICAL USE?

Twelve years ago my wife died of bowel cancer at 44 years old. She had
been prescribed the Marinol suppositories and the oral dosages of
cannabis to deal with the effects of the chemotherapy.

The suppositories took hours to work, made her higher than a kite
after hours of being significantly ill. The pills just came up with
the onset of the nausea and vomiting so were of no use. Her doctor,
in a very confidential way, suggested to me to see if I could find
some that she could smoke. Reluctantly, as a hospital director, I did.

She used very little, never got high, but the quick response to
inhaling it worked. She never experienced nausea or vomiting for the
rest of her very short life.

It was illegal at that time (US) and I was forced to take a great risk
to care for her. It was legalised just after her death.
