SHAME ON YOU, BRAESIDE

Re: "Methadone clinic run out of town," July 9.

I am ashamed to live in Calgary. Although I do not live in Braeside, I
wish I did. I would have been at that meeting to let the pompous asses
know that methadone clinics treat a wide variety of people, not just
the street bums I am sure they envisioned. The clientele is diverse.
Doctors, lawyers, nurses, everyday workers like themselves use these
clinics. The attitude and ignorance from people opposed to the clinic
is shameful. It ruins Calgary's reputation for being caring, helpful
and always there for the down and out. Shame on Braeside. Go get
yourselves educated. Hopefully, none of your relatives or friends will
ever need a methadone clinic and have to travel out of the city to
receive help.
