CITY SUPPORTS FIGHT AGAINST CRYSTAL METH
City Council is supporting a bid by Community Connections to acquire
some of the funding the Union of British Columbia Municipalities is
making available to communities that want to institute campaigns
against crystal meth use.
The UBCM is administering funds made available by the province to
fight the scourge of crystal meth, however, Mayor Mark McKee said the
program "may be underfunded and over-subscribed."
Dozens of towns and cities in BC has each sought $10,000 grants to
combat meth-amphetamine use.
The City will nonetheless provide Community Connections with a letter
of support for its application.
