CHILDREN SEIZED AFTER PARENTS CHARGED WITH RUNNING GROW-OP
The Children's Aid Society seized two young Vaughan children after
police charged their parents with running a marijuana grow operation.
A 35-year-old man and 29-year-old woman face drug and other charges
after York Regional Police raided two locations on Tuesday, one on the
West Mall in Toronto, the other on Vellore Woods Blvd. in Vaughan.
Police said the Toronto home contained a "fully functional" grow
operation with 321 plants worth $300,000.
The Vaughan home was used as a residence and two children, aged three
and seven, were taken and put into the care of the Children's Aid Society.
Police said the suspects allegedly manipulated their hydro box in such
a way that hid the true amount of electricity used in the operation.
