POT ACTIVIST'S BUSINESS LICENCE FOCUS OF HEARING

The City of Abbotsford is holding a hearing to determine if it will
suspend the business licence of marijuana activist and political
aspirant Tim Felger.

Felger was arrested and charged with a number of drug offences for
allegedly trafficking pot out of his downtown store to teenagers last month.

Consequently, the city sent notice to Felger the business licence
inspector is recommending the Da Kine store at 33772 Essendene Ave. be closed.

At the hearing June 29, council will review the evidence gathered by
police, hear from Felger and consider cancelling or suspending his
licence. It will be closed to the public.

According to the city's community charter a licence may be suspended
or cancelled for reasonable cause.

Felger said he wasn't going anywhere.

"They're gonna try and pull my licence for a crime they're not going
to convict me of," he said.

Even if the business is closed, Felger plans to continue his campaign
to legalize pot and put an end to the drug war from the property he leases.

"I don't need a business licence to open the doors. They can't stop
me from running a political office or raising revenue."

Felger has made numerous failed runs at political office over the
years, and hosted public smoke-ins.

He has also applied for a permit to take part in the city's annual
Canada Day parade.

"I'm going to pull my little red wagon. I'm going to ride my tricycle
with a sign 'vote for Tim Felger.'"
