DON'T BLAME THE MALL

After reading Andrew Hanon's May 15 column about Cassie Williams's
death and the effect it had on her friend, Alex, I wonder why we are
blaming West Edmonton Mall for the shortcomings in the upbringing of
these "mall rats." Stopping Rock 'N' Ride will not save more young
people like Cassie. Parents need to educate their children better. If
you hang around drug dealers, you might be susceptible to drugs. Mall
rats, you take your chances. Parents, if you had better control in the
first place, your kids wouldn't be there.
