FLYING 'GREEN HARVEST' MISSIONS BAD USE OF FUNDS

This morning (May 13), I watched and listened for hours as three
"green harvest" helicopters worked their search patterns over East Maui.

It made me wonder just how much three helicopters and crews cost to
operate and how much fuel was burned while searching for a weed? How
much more effective would those dollars be if they were focused on
drugs that truly cause problems for Maui?

In these times of shrinking revenues and tight budgets, it seems that
we should be using our resources in better ways.
