DEADLY DRUG WARNING

The Province Ridge Meadows RCMP are warning drug users about stolen
methadone that could kill.

A local pharmacy on the Lougheed Highway in the downtown core of Maple
Ridge has had two break-ins on successive nights. The suspect, or
suspects, got in through the roof.

A quantity of methadone, both liquid and powder was stolen. The liquid
methadone, which is used to treat heroin addiction, can be very harmful,
while the powder methadone can very easily be lethal, said police.

"We need to make this known to hard drug users to not use any methadone on
the street," said Staff-Sgt. Alex Bodden.
