TORY DRUG POLICIES SHAMEFUL

Dear Cathy McLeod:

In response to your survey, the Conservative Government is NOT on the
right track with its justice legislation. You as a nurse should be
ashamed of yourself for supporting this regressive approach to drug
trafficking and drug use.

If you did not learn in nursing school that:

1) punishment only makes things worse

2) harm reduction really works

3) rehabilitation is the only way to change behaviour

4) prison sentences create hardened criminals

then you weren't paying attention. The Conservative Party aims to
create a "punishment-based" society like the U.S. here in Canada.

Your policies makes gated communities and private security officers
the norm. This is not how we behave as Canadians.
