FOCUS ON MARIJUANA SHOULD NOT BE MADE

The citizens of Tulare County are the most fortunate in the entire
state. Why? Because there is no crime in our county. There are no
robberies, no thefts, no drive-by shootings or spousal abuse. Farmers
and ranchers never report vandalism or stolen property, and various
gangs in the county pose nary a problem. There are no drunk drivers
roaming our roads threatening our children or child molesters doing
the same. Well, aren't we lucky?

And that is why my fortunate fellow citizens, our very own Tulare
County Sheriff's Department has the time and the resources to arrest
an innocent man for growing medical marijuana. A man with a valid
permit to grow cannabis of which the Sheriff's Department was fully aware.

There is something very wrong with this story. Let's tell the
Sheriff's Department to stick to their business and focus attention
where it should be: on the real law breakers of this county.
