ZONING IN ON METHADONE CLINIC
Ricky Leong is quite right when he says the logical course of action
is for the city to waive the $130,000 rezoning fee so that the
methadone clinic can stay where it is. ("Addicts deserve second
chance," April 14.) Another question is why it costs anything. Why
doesn't council just pass a special exemption for the clinic and
leave the zoning as it is? Isn't this the sort of thing our council
should do out of common sense and what is right for the community?
