VICTORIA'S STREET CRIME LEAVES TOURIST SHOCKED
There has been nowhere in the world we loved more to visit than
Victoria. That is, until the past year. Victoria is so beautiful and
friendly during the daytime, it has been our piece of heaven. But
your citizens must stand up and clean up your town. We never saw a
policeman, so we wonder as foreigners -- do you have a police department?
We leave top-rated restaurants, only to have four or more junkies
firing up a spoon of heroin on the porch of the restaurant, injecting
their arms as they heckle us walking past. Four nights in a row, in
four different parts of town!
On our last visit, we had our car broken into in our hotel parking
lot, with gated security. We learned from hotel staff that three cars
were broken into the night before, three the night ours was attacked
and three more, plus a stolen car, the following night.
Shame on you, Victoria, for backing down and letting these junkies
and car thieves take over the most beautiful part of the world.
Today's economy will hurt you because you don't have a police force
with any courage.
Victoria police, get on the actual streets and protect your community
and tourists.
We were planning our fourth visit this year for our anniversary, but
forget it now -- we can find junkies and crime anywhere, and yours is
worse than any I have seen in the United States.
