LEGALIZE TO MONITOR, ELIMINATE PROFITABILITY
Usually, I don't agree with much the Democrats are saying these days,
but Rhonda Swan was right on with her piece about marijuana.
I smoked my share when I was young. And as President Obama said, "I
inhaled; that was the whole point." It should be legal. And who'd
have thought we'd still be talking about this 30 years later? We all
know the reason why it isn't legal, and that is the greed of the
lawyers, judges and police that profit from its illegality. But we
are dancing around that fact. Why? Are we intimidated?
If you smoked weed 30 years ago, you'd find a purer product with less
or no added chemicals. Now, you are gambling that what you are
smoking is not tainted with some other addictive drug. If it were
legal, we could monitor the content. We need to keep banging this
drum until it is legal. And free these "criminals" from serving a
sentence for a harmless crime.
