FRANKLIN PAIR CONVICTED IN MARIJUANA OPERATION
A jury found two Franklin County residents guilty on federal charges
of operating a marijuana trafficking ring.
Danny E. "Vinny" Theriault, 33, and Jackaleen A. "Ma" Theriault, 56,
both of North Bangor, were each found guilty Wednesday in U.S.
District Court in Albany of conspiring to possess with intent to
distribute marijuana. Both will be sentenced July 28.
The jury also found them liable for a forfeiture totaling $129,000 and
a furnace, along with a money judgment of $1.54 million.
Denny Theriault, 20, North Bangor, pleaded guilty March 5 to
conspiring to possess with intent to distribute marijuana. He will be
sentenced July 20.
All three were accused of obtaining marijuana from Canada from January
2006 through April 2007 and distributing it to customers in the Albany
and New York City areas, prosecutors said.
Danny reportedly coordinated the drug buys with his mother, Jackaleen,
and she allegedly delivered the marijuana to customers herself. Denny
traveled with his mother on several occasions for the deliveries.
A state police investigator said the group smuggled 1,765 pounds of
marijuana worth an estimated $4,147,750 during that time.
