HIT THE CRIMINALS WHERE IT HURTS
Kudos to Alberta Justice Minister Alison Redford for a step in the
right direction ("Redford defends selling property before
convictions," March 3). Crime shouldn't pay, but under our system of
justice we know the judges and courts don't make the time fit the
crime. So, hit the criminals where it hurts, in their wallets. Next,
they should take a hard look at how these criminals' relatives manage
to live way beyond their means and launder the cash acquired by
illegal activities.

(Wouldn't waiting for a conviction make more legal sense?)
