LEGAL DRUGS WILL NOT END VIOLENCE
Re: Mindelle Jacobs, Feb. 27. The legalization of drugs will not bring an
end to gang violence. It will merely serve as reinforcement to addicts that
their habit is OK because it is legal. I agree with increased education,
that is a must. Legalizing drugs may no longer make criminals out of
occasional users, but it will force organized crime and gangsters to look
elsewhere for revenue. This would come in the form of trafficking
stolen goods or people, and would result in continued pressure by police to
put an end to that. Mind you, if we legalized that too ...
