NURSING HOME RESIDENT FOUND WITH POT
Stephenville Police are investigating an incident involving a
65-year-old resident of Mulberry Manor suspected of possessing marijuana.
Captain Mark Johnson said police were called shortly after 11:30 p.m.
Saturday after a nursing home employee discovered a baggie of
marijuana inside a bag belonging to the resident. Johnson said the
resident had asked the employee to get something out of the bag, when
it was found.
The resident claimed he found the marijuana outside and brought it
back to his room "so that kids wouldn't get a hold of it," Johnson
said. Mulberry Manor officials would not comment on the case, but
confirmed that it happened and authorities had been contacted.
Police have requested a warrant, but the man has not been arrested.
The district attorney will decide if charges will be filed.
