SIMPLE, NAIVE

Re: 'Inmates conning us over drugs,' Point of View, Paul Rutherford, Feb.
11.

Are you really that simple and naive? Do you really believe that it's
just the inmate's creativity that allows the drugs to enter the
institution? Would it ever be nice to get some objective reporting on
this issue. Mandatory testing, in my humble opinion, will only make a
difference once you stop the drugs from entering the institution.
Should this not be the focus?

I spent almost 15 months on this issue, while incarcerated. Prison
management, with their tunnel vision, could not or would not accept
that there is a remedy to stop the flow of drugs into the prison
system. I find it rather appalling that your column actually short
changes the public with regards to this issue.

Maybe in the near future, someone will realize that search policies
and enforcement strategies should be applied to each and every
individual entering that institution.

from entering. What did you read?)
