MAN ADMITS TO SMUGLING HEROIN TO BROTHER IN JAIL
SYRACUSE - A 32 year-old Syracuse man admits he smuggled heroin into
the city jail for his brother, who later almost died of an overdose.
Marc Chetney pleaded guilty Wednesday to a single felony count of
first-degree promoting prison contraband. Authorities said he passed
the heroin to his 30 year-old brother, Sean, during a contact visit
Nov. 24.
Sean Chetney, in jail on a parole violation, was found unconscious in
his cell the next morning.
Marc Chetney will be sentenced next month to serve two to four years
in state prison. Sean Chetney is back in state prison for violating
parole.
