COMPASSIONATE STANCE ON COMPASSIONATE BILLS

Thank you for your editorial "A safe prescription for marijuana use"
(Dec. 18), supporting medicinal marijuana.

As you know, the bill was passed through the state Senate Health
Committee with a 6-1 vote. I testified at the hearing because I have
multiple sclerosis and marijuana works far better for me than a number
of legal narcotics.

Without The Times' great press coverage, the many thou sands of
patients throughout New Jersey who have chronic pain would never know
of such laws that are beginning to change to benefit their lives.

I hope the next hearing occurs as soon as possible so that bills S119
and A804 are approved with flying colors.
