'BONG ON'

Thank you for Roy Clancy's Feb. 4 column about Michael Phelps smoking
weed. It is "bong" on. Phelps didn't do anything different than his
peers. I'm a 33-year-old executive assistant and still party like a
rock star on occasion. If the do-gooders out there seriously think
his image is tarnished by a picture of him at a party smoking from a
bong, they are sadly mistaken. Not only will his upcoming event be
well attended, (who doesn't want to see this man in the flesh?), but
I for one will continue to buy products he endorses. The man is
nothing short of AMAZING! If any one of his sponsors decides to drop
him, I won't hesitate to stop spending money with them. Thanks for
reminding everybody Phelps is a 23-year-old swimmer who wants to have
a little fun and be social -- something not easily accomplished when
you have your head underwater eight hours a day.
