LEGALIZING EVERYTHING THAT'S WRONG WON'T EVER LEAD US TO UTOPIAN LIVING
Editor, The Times:
In his Tuesday letter to the Times - Two options for us: police state
or legalize drugs - Alan Randall presents a very "unsound" solution to
our dangerous gang and drug problems.
Randall appears to favour the legalization of drugs. We should ask
ourselves: are illegal drugs harmful? There is only one answer - yes!
Are sellers and users of these illegal drugs breaking the law? Why are
the drugs illegal?(Just look at the results of use).
The police do their best to enforce drug laws. As experience has shown
the lack the manpower, financial resources, legal system and public
support has been a real problem.
If legalizing an unlawful dangerous act will create a safe environment
why not legalize speeding? Why not disobey stop signs? We may just be
able to live in Utopia without interference from the police!
Let's give our head a shake and think again.
