POT LAW'S WORKING

The provisions of Question 2 are only maddening to the reefer mad ( "Pot
law needs attention", Jan. 26).

Almost four weeks after the new law took effect, there is no evidence
that those cited are not paying their fine, although thanks to the
Herald its readers may believe they do not have to.

There are no lawsuits on behalf of children disciplined for having
brought cannabis to school or by employees challenging employer
discipline for having brought it to work.

If there is any problem with the new law it is that it did not
establish a legal cannabis industry that would collect excise taxes
and pay taxes.
