DRUG LEGALIZATION
Which cartel are the members of our City Council working for? Has
anyone from the FBI checked their bank accounts?
This resolution that our City Council originally passed 8-0 calling
for our federal government to seriously study the legalization of
narcotics is very disturbing. The violence in Juarez is disturbing and
should not be downplayed.
Just a few short years ago, another City Council voted for a rainwater
runoff tax and was voted out. This group should be held accountable,
then run out of our town.
As for me and my house, we will be voting for anyone except this group
of people.
For Mayor Cook, thank you for standing up for the people of El
Paso.

Editor's note: The Times received many letters concerning the City
Council resolution including language about discussing legalization of
drugs. Some of these were written before the resolution veto was upheld.
