Editor's note: The Times received many letters concerning the City
Council resolution including language about discussing legalization
of drugs. Some of these were written before the resolution veto was upheld.

TWAIN ANALOGY

Mark Twain said, "Think yourself a politician, then think yourself an
idiot, I'm sorry I repeated myself." I now know he was able to see
into the future and he was referring to our City Council.

Kids, Uncle Beto and the city reps are saying, drugs should be OK for
you. When you grow up, you can have all you want -- the corner store
has a license to sell it. Forget good morals; we know best.

So cut and run, City Council.

The cartels have won because they scared you and you are afraid to
stand up to them and say, "No ransom." All those they have killed
mean nothing; just give in to them.

Are you all part of the big change for America -- placate the terrorists?

I will never give up America to drug dealers who kill to sell drugs.
And who do you think you are making up something that involves all
citizens without asking us?

It should be our opinions, not yours. Have you asked any of us?

Anybody have a brush? I have the yellow paint.
