On April 14, 2008, Prime Minister Stephen Harper appointed Jean-Paul
Ouellette to be a Judge of the Court of Queen's Bench of New
Brunswick. In January 2009, Ouellette ruled against Eva Marie
Duplessie, sentencing her to one year in jail for growing medical
marijuana for sick people.
On December 17, 2007, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper appointed
Zoel R. Dionne to be a Judge of the same New Brunswick court. In
January 2009, Dionne ruled against a couple, sentencing them to to one
year of house arrest for producing child pornography.
