NO NEED FOR CORRECTIVE LEGISLATION

DESPITE QUESTION 2's receiving overwhelming support of voters, the
Globe's editorial board continues its campaign against the
decriminalization of cannabis. Most recently, the day the law went
into effect, the Globe called for corrective legislation giving police
the right to confirm a person's identity"Marijuana citation in drug
bust may be 1st issued under new law" (Metro, Jan. 4).

Give the law a chance.

If any law needs fixing, it is our 17-year-old medical marijuana law,
which requires a federally approved supply that doesn't exist. Now is
the time to catch up to our neighbors in Maine and Rhode Island so
that the sick in the Commonwealth can legally obtain and possess the
relief they deserve.
