COOK'S VETO

Thank God that Mayor Cook had the wisdom to veto the harebrained
resolution that would ask the federal government to debate the
legalization of drugs.

He averted an ill-conceived measure that would serve to bring shame to
the honorable community of the city of El Paso. Are the members of the
council so sheltered from the rest of the world that they do not see
the devastation that illegal drug use brings upon its users and their
families?

Anyone who tries to equate liquor with cocaine, meths, heroin, and
other such drugs is ill-informed and lacking in life experience.
