Re: "Now we see the victims of victimless crimes," Editorial, Jan. 7.

We were the direct victims of crime caused by gang wars, having
received a bullet in one of our cars parked in front of our house
from a scuffle that occurred on Jan. 1, 2008.

In my opinion, those who consume drugs of any type, no matter the
quantity, are directly responsible for the violence caused by the
gang wars that are affecting our peace of mind and all but destroyed
the peace and security we used to enjoy. I do not understand why the
police and the media do not indicate to Calgarians that those who
consume drugs are accomplices in each crime committed by these thugs.
