MAN CHARGED WITH INTENT TO SELL HYDROPONICALLY GROWN POT
SIERRA VISTA -- A local man was arrested Thursday morning on a charge
of intent to sell hydroponically grown (without soil) marijuana,
after the man's probation officer called Sierra Vista police for
assistance in searching his residence, according to the police department.
Bond for David R. Holmes, 23, was set at $25,000, and he is charged
with possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of drug
paraphernalia, and for violation of probation, Cochise County
Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Carol Capas said Friday. He was
booked into the Cochise County Jail.
Holmes was arrested just after 10 a.m. in the 4400 block of Buena Loma Way.
The arrest occurred after police and probation officers at his
residence found him to be in possession of an undetermined amount of
hydroponic marijuana, said Detective Jock Russell of the Sierra Vista police.
Holmes was also in possession of "other items consistent with sales
of marijuana," Russell said.
It did not appear he was growing the marijuana at the residence, Russell said.
Holmes had been previously sentenced to, and was still serving
criminal probation time, stemming from previous charges of possession
of marijuana for sale, Russell said.
