FOWLE TRIED TO VETO PEOPLE'S WILL FOR MEDICINAL MARIJUANA

It's time we give District Attorney Evert Fowle a new name. I suggest
that the title of King Scrooge might suit him.

You can often judge one's values by the way they spend their time and
money. In December, most people are focused on kindness and goodwill.

Our district attorney, however, chose to spend considerable time and
tax dollars trying to block people from exercising their right to use
medicinal marijuana.

Bah, humbug!

Fowle attempted to veto the will of Maine voters by cutting off the
supply of medicinal marijuana.

Thanks go to the jurors who acquitted Donny Christian and preserved
the law that we supported.

Apparently Fowle doesn't believe the spirit of liberty and good will
should extend to people who use medicinal marijuana. If he sat down
to dinner with these folks, he might find that they share the same
core values as all Mainers.

Hang around the DA's office for too many years and you can start to
view everyone as guilty.

This becomes especially obvious when Fowle cannot recognize the
cruelty in withholding medicine from our friends and neighbors who
are suffering.

He seems to have completely lost the ability or desire to put himself
in the shoes of another.

The holidays might be a good time for Fowle to give some thought to
the Golden Rule.
