RCMP LOOK FOR IMPACT OF DRUGS ON COMMUNITY
Drugs affect the whole community, and the Prince George RCMP want to
make that impact known to the courts.
They are seeking public assistance in conducting a Community Impact
Statement, which will be submitted to courts for consideration in
sentencing for drug-related offences.
Police are encouraging anyone whose life has been affected by drugs to
participate in the statement, taking a proactive approach in
addressing the problems.
Whether the experiences are of personal effects or from businesspeople
or service providers who have been impacted by the drug trade, the
RCMP want to hear them.
Those who wish to participate are asked to write a letter outlining
their experiences and what they feel can be done to address the issue
of drugs in Prince George.
Letters should be addressed to Cst. Kent MacNeill, and can be dropped
off at or mailed to the local detachment at 999 Brunswick St., or
faxed to 250-562-8331.
