POT BUSTS BOOST DEALERS' PROFITS
Re: $5.3-million drug bust
The people happiest about this bust are the 90-95 per cent of growers
who will never get caught. Nothing keeps the price of pot high like
big busts!
In fact, it is the police and government's prohibition on pot that
makes growing pot so lucrative in the first place, and by tearing out
1,000 or 10,000 plants, the police are actually subsidizing these
guys' rivals.
It also gives the police all the justification they need to demand
more troops and more money every year. They know perfectly well that a
bust -- even one this size -- will have little-to-no effect on the
availability of pot to the general public, but it will keep the price,
and profits, good and high.
