CANNABIS HASN'T KILLED LIKE ALCOHOL, TOBACCO

Editor, The Times:

I find it unfortunate that there is no Cannabis Party, though I
applaud the work of Tim Felger and Celerino Castillo.

I prefer the proper scientific name for Earth's most beneficial
plant.

Some 99 per cent of all drug deaths are caused by alcohol and
tobacco.

If that's not enough to illustrate the sheer madness of the so-called
war on drugs, then what is?

We need to pay more attention to the indisputable fact that people are
massive drug users, always have been, and will be into the foreseeable
future.

But in all of history no death certificate has ever listed cannabis as
the cause. Instead it's the best medicine we've ever used.

And look how we treat the people who are devoted to this
plant.
