LAW DETERS CRIMINAL ACTIVITY
Regarding crack cocaine laws too hard on dealers: Tough or not, the
laws were written to deter criminal activity. Apparently the threat of
15 years in jail only bothers dealers after they are arrested.
Addiction to crack cocaine ruins the lives of the addict. Eventually
their lives are controlled by this addiction. Eventually they become
unemployed, and reclusive.
They will turn to criminal activities to support their habit. They
neglect their own families. Unable to pay rent or mortgages, they lose
their homes.
Marriages fail. Children become parentless. Think the crack epidemic
doesn't effect you? Have you ever wondered where the crack addict gets
his money to buy these drugs? Check the crime statistics in your
neighborhood. Fifteen years too tough for crack dealers? I don't think
so.
