BAD ACID TRIP LEADS TO MORNING SKINNYDIP IN OKANAGAN LAKE

KELOWNA (CNS) -- A bad acid trip led to a cold bath for one B.C. woman.

Paramedics and the Kelowna RCMP were called to the shores of Okanagan
Lake yesterday morning, after a woman was seen swimming naked in the water.

By the time police and ambulances arrived, the woman had come back to
shore after a 15-minute swim in the lake -- at one point 300 metres out.

"She was seen screaming and wailing as she exited the lake," said
Kelowna RCMP Const. Steve Holmes. "Police questioned the 23-year-old
woman, who said she had consumed a hallucinogen, LSD, the previous evening."

She was taken to hospital after she began lapsing in and out of consciousness.

Police are using the incident as an anti-drug warning.

"This is a prime example of the dangers involved in the use and abuse
of illegal substances and, for this woman, the outcome could have
been much worse were it not for the vigilant eyes of the public," said Holmes.
