16,000 MARIJUANA PLANTS DESTROYED IN CARMEL VALLEY
No Arrests Made At Carmel Valley Pot Farm
A marijuana garden near the Santa Lucia Preserve in Carmel Valley was
eradicated Friday, the Sheriff's Office said Monday.
Agents with the Monterey County Marijuana Eradication Team destroyed
about 16,000 plants discovered growing in the forest off Robinson
Canyon and Carmel Valley roads, authorities said.
Members of the state Department of Justice and the U.S. Forest Service
also participated in the operation.
No arrests have been made and authorities say they are continuing to
investigate.
The marijuana garden destroyed Friday is the third discovered growing
in the Robinson Canyon Road area this year.
In July authorities destroyed a patch of about 32,000 and in August
another 6,500 plants.
