MEMO TO NEW DEMOCRATS: THERE IS A RESEARCH TOOL CALLED GOOGLE

The Party's Experience With Dana Larson Points Out That There Is
Still A Line That Can't Be Crossed With Marijuana Use

In an age when even a Republican vice-presidential candidate can talk
openly about experimenting with marijuana in her younger days without
harming her career, it's hard to imagine what kind of youthful
indiscretion could harm a candidate today. That is, it was hard to
imagine. Thanks to New Democrat Dana Larson, we know now there is
still a line to be crossed and for that we're grateful.

Larson's drug use went far beyond the toke-as-a-teenager variety. The
37 year old former editor of Cannabis Culture magazine was 28 when he
recorded the video for Pot TV described as a "Weedy Wednesday
Smokefest" in which "he smokes many fatties of Skunk #1 and takes us
on a tour of the Sunshine Coast."

The New Democrats were apparently not aware of the videos that have
now emerged when they embraced one of the founders of the B.C.
Marijuana Party as a candidate for the riding of West
Vancouver-Sunshine Coast-Sea-to-Sky Country. But the biography
published on his candidate web page, describing his long experience
in the mood-altering substance industry, might have piqued a bit of curiosity.

Or maybe the New Democrats haven't yet discovered how to use Google.
