TOXIC ALTERNATIVE TO NATURAL FIBER
It was in 1937 that DuPont brought the miracle of Nylon to the marketplace,
the toxic alternative to natural fiber. At the same time, a new machine for
processing the hemp plant was being introduced. The device solved age-old
problems and made automatic processing feasible. Popular Mechanics magazine
called hemp the "New Billion Dollar Crop." Later in that same year, the
hemp prohibition came into place. Greed, expressed as political corruption,
shackles us all to the oil patch, sucking us in to La Brea. We require the
political courage and an informed populace to mend our fuelish ways.
