FUND REHABILITATION

How can letter writer Robert Janzen say prison is a pleasant place?
Does he base his ideas on what he sees at the movies? Murderers
couldn't care less about law and order. Most murders are crimes of
passion or anger without prior thought.

Longer sentences are not the answer and neither is taking away
rehabilitation programs.

And as for removing parole, people make mistakes. Are you saying
those people should never see the light of day again?

With a $110,000 annual cost to the taxpayer for housing a male
offender, are you willing to fork out the millions of dollars it
costs to house people in prisons?

Removing rehabilitation is one of the worst things the government can
do. Punishment by institutionalization will actually breed criminality.

The answer is more funding for police and more funding for
rehabilitation. Help these "sick individuals" and help the police.

How can police compete against the gang lords when they have more
money and more members?
