A little off topic. What will this kid do when he takes a drink or a
toke at a dance or party one night and finds out that it really is fun?
KIDS NEED TO KNOW TRUTH ABOUT ALCOHOL ABUSE
I am 12 years old and would like for my generation to be part of the
solution, instead of part of the problem. We need to know the truth. For
this reason Crown Royal hard liquor ads really concern me.
According to the Coalition for the Prevention of Alcohol Problems, the
effects on children of frequent exposure to television beer ads include:
1. Formation of beliefs about beer consumption that
relate it to good times and fun, more often than caution and risk.
2. An association with having a moderate to high
expectation to drink as an adult.
This drunken dilemma will become even worse with the new Crown Royal
hard liquor ads. I feel there is little hope that this greedy company
and others like it will take responsible actions. But what about those
even closer to us? What about the parents of this generation?
We are your future. So why don't you help us and yourselves by telling
us the truth about alcohol abuse and setting a sober example for us.
Then at least we could mock these ads with you which show drinking and
partying as so much fun and know by the sober example you have set that
there is a better way to enjoy life. Then we will be around to honor you
and take care of you when you need us.
