TESTING FARCE
B.C.'s new workplace drug testing is a farce and won't make the
workplace any safer. I've worked in Alberta where drug testing is
done. Drug users pass the pee test by using a flush kit available at
some shops or through the Internet. The drug users continue using.
If they're taking weed, they may be tempted to switch to cocaine as
all traces of it leave the system within 24 hours. I'd rather work
with a weed smoker than a hard-drug user. The only ones who benefit
from drug testing are the companies producing the flush kits, the
laboratories testing the pee and the cocaine dealers.
