YOUR NEWSPAPER NEEDS A FACT CHECKER
The Union has been filled with so much misinformation regarding
medical marijuana that I am beginning to think they are pushing an
anti-pot agenda.
The first is terminology. Instead of calling it "cannabis" or
"marijuana," The Union has been using loaded terms like "dope" on the
news pages.
Secondly, marijuana cannot be prescribed. Marijuana can be
recommended, approved, endorsed or suggested by a doctor. This error
is shown by both The Union's writers and editorial staff, and the
county Sheriff Royal. It would be nice for someone familiar with the
laws be able to enforce the laws.
Third, the county has better things to waste money on besides busting
non-violent marijuana growers. They could pay for The Union to get a
fact checker!
